Fire Phone

This old phone was found in an old barn that was being cleaned out in Dennysville. It appears it was used for the fire department that was just down the road.

Why We're Here

We are a new group that is here to bring back Maine's history, mainly in Washington County. Right now we are interested in Pembroke and the surrounding areas. We have found many great sites and pieces of history in this area. We recently started a dig in Pembroke on a buried bottle dump from the 1800's and found some great bottles buried under the roots of a spruce tree. Unfortunately, winter caught up with us and we are postponing the dig until spring. For now, we are filling up our notebooks with information on the history of this area.
We hope to keep this blog interesting and fun, and keep you updated on our finds.
